Houston Stormwater Master Plan Receives ACEC Texas Eminent Conceptor Award

Halff celebrated a major milestone as the City of Houston Stormwater Master Plan (SWMP) received top honors at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Texas Engineering Excellence Awards. The project earned a Gold Medal in the Water Resources category and the prestigious Eminent Conceptor Award, the program’s highest distinction recognizing the year’s most outstanding engineering achievement.
The SWMP provides a comprehensive analysis of Houston’s drainage system through citywide hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. By evaluating the impacts of routine storms and extreme flood events, the plan helps city leaders identify system vulnerabilities, prioritize improvements and make informed decisions that strengthen long term flood resilience for the community. In addition, the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 Delta Reclamation Water Treatment Plant Pilot Study received a gold medal in the Studies, Research and Consulting Engineering category.

Major project achievements were also celebrated through the Pursuit of the Year Award and the Project of the Year Award.
